Ashley Rocha has been busy with a new project...learning how to create audio books. She's been learning how to record herself reading the books and edit the audio files. She's also learning how to create a music soundtrack to go with the book. She's busy adding sound effects to go along with the books as well. She has done a really great job so far and plans to record more books throughout the rest of the year.
Her third series of audio books are from author Lynley Dodd. These were recommend by one of our Guthrie teachers. Ashley hopes that these recordings will be enjoyed by many of our students who are learning to read. If you have any questions or would like her to record a book for you and your children just find her throughout the day and let her know, she will be happy to. Thank you and we hope you enjoy listening to them. January is school board appreciation month in Texas. The Guthrie Common School District (GCSD) is blessed to have seven dedicated and selfless individuals serving as trustees on the local school board. The GCSD Board members for 2012-13 are: Jay Hurt (President), Travis Adams (Vice-president), Terry Daniel (Secretary), Brenda Jones, Justin Johnson, Terri O'Neal, and Toby Oliver. These fine public servants invest their time, their energy, their thinking, and their leadership (and a fair amount of sleeplessness) in the interest of making GCSD an exemplar among school districts and one that ensures a World Class education for ALL its students. GCSD is proud to acknowledge the work and service of these fine folks.
